Where in the world is Jonathan?

A beautiful day on the Tigris.

Couldn't help but to admire the view... and enjoy some local food for lunch from our generous Iraqi hosts.

Tikrit Orphanage

Hey everyone,
This will have to be a quick entry. I have been busy for the last several weeks. As I mentioned before, I am the Civil Affairs Team Leader for the 3-7th Field Artillery from Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. I have posted a few pictures below that were from a recent trip we made to the Tikrit Orphanage. There were several children there, but the ones that really touched me were the newborns. My team and I got the opportunity to hand out clothing and school supplies to the children there. We've gotten so much support from people all across the U.S. and most of the things we handed out on this particular day was from an Episcopal Church in Missouri. I promise I will write more later, but for now I let the pictures do my talking.

God bless,
Jonathan

Jason, Jerry, and me

This guy was in almost every picture we took... a real ham.

Handing out pencils.

More pencils.

This picture and the one below were the special needs children at the orphanage.

Don't you just love the little boy on the right?

This poor little guy has lukemia, but can't really get the needed treatment.

Babies are adorable no matter what part of the world you are in. This little girl is 1 month old.

Two months.

Three months.

We handed out scarves, gloves, beanies, and socks to all the kids. They were so excited to see us.
